Institutional Development and Capacity Building : A Project of Institutional Linkage and Technical Cooperation Between Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Thailand and Canadian Universities Technolgy Consortium (CUTC), Canada
- A project of institutional linkage and technical cooperation to support the institutional development and capacity building of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) hrough: (a) customized training programs in Canada; (b) technical assistance services in Thailand; and (c) joint academic and scholarly initiatives in both countries. The project also involves the development and implementation of a number of innovative, joint academic
initiatives including: (a) an English as a Second Language (ESL) Centre; (b) an international applied science and engineering undergraduate program; (c) a joint Ph.D.
program in which the research phase is undertaken in Thailand under the joint supervision of Thai and Canadian personnel; (d) a co-op student exchange program.
The project also incorporates a number of programs to strengthen university-industry linkages for both CUTC institutions and SUT including: (a) short upgrading programs
for personnel from Thai enterprises; and (b) participation of Canadian and Thai industries and enterprises in a technical and commercial exposition supported by the Thai government at SUT in 1995.
